Spike Jonze To Make Film Out of One Sentence

17 October 2009 No Comments

Although most people were surprised that director Spike Jonze managed to craft a feature film out of a children’s story that contains only ten sentences, the former music video director insists that even those ten short sentences were too much information.

His next film will be an adaptation of John 11:35. The scripture, which contains only the words “Jesus wept,” will be expanded by Jonze and his longtime collaborator Charlie Kaufman. “Most people who read those two words see only the surface. When I read them, I see a possible trilogy of feature films.”

No word yet on exactly what might take place in the adaptation of this single scripture, but Jonze has hinted that “Jesus will probably sulk more than actually cry in my version.”
